Solid help now that my internet speeds at home exceed my 2.5gb port on my motherboard. Build quality feels durable. Speed seems to meet the advertised rates and overall I like that I didnt have to find drivers for linux compatibility.
This little aluminum adapter looks like it belongs in a laptop bag, not in a bargain bin, and that is already a win. The build feels solid, the USB C plug seats snugly, and the Ethernet port does not feel like it will peel off if someone looks at it funny. It is the kind of dongle that quietly says, yes, I do actual work.Setup is about as dramatic as plugging in a toaster. On Windows and macOS it is basically plug and play, and it just starts behaving like a real network port. When the Wi-Fi gets moody, switching to wired feels like flipping life back to stable mode.Speed-wise it delivers a noticeably faster, steadier connection than typical gigabit adapters, especially on fast networks. File transfers feel snappy, streaming is smooth, and latency stays civilized. It runs a bit warm under heavy use, but not pocket lava, more like working hard in a tiny metal jacket. The design is clean and compact, and the aluminum shell helps it feel more premium than most plastic bricks. The cable length is workable, though it can feel short if the laptop is on a stand and the router is living across the room like it pays rent. Overall it is a dependable tool with a couple of tiny annoyances that remind everyone it is still, technically, a dongle. :D?? Excellent Things? Solid aluminum body feels durable and travel friendly.? Plug and play behavior is refreshingly drama-free on common systems.? Fast, stable wired connection is great for transfers and video calls.? Compact size fits easily in a bag without becoming a dongle nest.?? Not Great Things? Runs warm during long heavy transfers, because physics always collects rent.? Cable can feel a little short depending on desk setup.? The port fit is tight, great for stability, less great for quick swaps.
This Ethernet adapter was provided through Amazon Vine, and Ive been using it on a Dell Alienware PC with a Thunderbolt port.I needed a wired internet connection for a work-from-home job I was starting. Wi-Fi wasnt allowed for this position, so I needed something that would give me a true wired connection without turning into a whole project to set up. One specific reason I like this C-port adapter is that the built-in Ethernet port on my laptop is cracked and unreliable, and the cable constantly falls out. This adapter stays securely connected, so I dont have to mess with it or worry about losing the connection.A lot of newer computers dont even have an Ethernet port anymore, which is part of the problem. Since my laptop only has USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, I needed an adapter to make a wired connection possible at all, and thats what led me to this one.Setup was as easy as it gets. I plugged it in, Windows recognized it immediately, and I was online. There were no drivers to install, no settings to dig through, and no reboot needed. That alone was a relief when youre trying to get ready for a new job.The connection itself is lightning fast and very reliable. Pages load instantly, downloads dont crawl, and everything feels steady and responsive. I havent had any random disconnects or slowdowns, and its been far more consistent than Wi-Fi, which is exactly what I needed for work.Ive been using it regularly and moving it between ports without any issues. Its the kind of device you plug in and forget about, which is what you want when youre relying on it to get your job done. The price is very reasonable. I can't think of a cheaper way to upgrade my home Internet speed. Especially in my case, with the Ethernet housing on my laptop being damaged.Overall, this has been a simple, dependable solution for getting a wired Ethernet connection through a USB-C/Thunderbolt port. If your computer doesnt have an Ethernet jack and you need a fast, stable wired connection for work, this adapter has done the job without any hassle.
I tested this adapter on a laptop usb c port, and compared to a regular ethernet port on the same computer. The adapter performs well, has a stable connection, and has a similar speed as the built-in ethernet port. Connection is plug-and-play, easy to use. This adapter allows the ethernet wire connection to a router without using wifi, and perfect for wire connection to newer laptops that do not have the ethernet port. I'm happy with this product and glad to have it in my kit for work in which I need to make a direct connection to a router or modem without wifi.
Works great. Up to 5gbs with usb-c connectivity. Usb 3.2
