This adapter was basically plug and play and gave me a stable wired connection right away. Speeds are noticeably better than a basic gigabit adapter when connected to faster network gear, and the connection stays consistent during larger transfers. I have a Dell Laptop that has Wifi only built in and it works ok, but I wanted something faster for my gaming.The product is extremely well packaged and looks really cool. I like that it gives enough cable to be flexible, while working with USB 3x which is what I have.All I can say when I plugged it in and used it was wow. My first image is the before and I was using the Light background and then I swapped to dark mode. I then installed the adapter and ran tests again and WOW, the numbers are amazing. I went up over 1500 in download and other 2000 in Upload.WOW, fantastic product, very durable, flexible cable and it just works OOB and has no latency issues and so far I am using it fully and the wifi is off.I highly recommend this adapter. This device solves that problem.Worked out of the box - This 5Gbps USB to Ethernet Adapter was indeed plug & play with my Windows OS laptop.There was nothing for me to configure just plug one end to the laptop and insert a network cable into the other.Simple, easy and convenient.I do find the adapter's size to be quite large. Really prefer the metal housing (its not cheap plastic).Also appreciate the two indicator lights when in use - very helpful.What is really important is that the connections are solid/firm and not loose or wiggle around once inserted and this product makes solid connections.The 5Gbps adapter works well for my needs and is faster and more reliable than my WiFi network.Actual achievable speed will vary and is based on your equipment (end-to-end). For the capability of my laptop USB specification, network, switch and cabling, I am more than satisfied with the results.
