I have an old computer that I use for my media center, and I've been stuck on 2.4ghz wifi since it has an old wifi card. With this I was able to upgrade to my 5ghz network, and my speeds have massively increased.

This is a dual device offering both fast wifi and bluetooth. I don't mind buying no name brand computer components as long as I don't have to fidget with unknown driver issues. Usually with these types, you plug these devices and they start working right off the bat, at least nowadays that would be the expectation. Unfortunately, for this one you have to download the drivers as being noname brand (relatively speaking) it needs drivers that are proprietary. Windows drivers are being offered from the different Realtek chipset makers. On Linux though, the drivers of these are not readily available (depending on your flavor of Linux) and you may have to rummage through some potentially incompatible ones before you end up with something that works more or less smoothly on Linux. Otherwise you are looking at potential unpredictable drops. Depending on the model, even the name brands some times drop the ball with Linux drivers. But you would not expect that of a generic no name brand product that is supposed to be using the most basic of the basic installation criteria so they dont inconvenience their customer base. Worked well in an Arch Linux build.

I'm using this in a desktop PC with a PCIe adapter board. It connects well to both my 2.4g and 5g networks. My fastest link speed was 1.2Gbits/sec on the 5G network, in the same room as the router. Enjoy.

I have a laptop that is still great even that it was made in 2016. CPU are server grade with ample amount of memory. The only draw back was wifi speeds where only as good as the time the computer was made. popped out the old card and put this in. Was up and running after pulling the drivers.Speeds have been so far true with what they where expecting.
